Random geek stuff from the web:

Yes! I’ve had enough. Its been a good learning opportunity but I won’t go far or grow in my career if I continue dabbling in this field of I.T. I don’t think I can do much with where I am. I need to do more and meaningful stuff (from a personal perspective). How can I use technology for business and socio-economic development? That’s where I’m heading.
Maybe SUPER complex web applications with DEEP business value. That I can do. Value for users and with better monetary returns (read Massive!) 😛
So, please! If you need a website, I can give you referrals or simply go to Upwork.
Have a happy and productive 2016! Cheers!

Being a fan of Sci-Fi, I came across this interesting list.
I read ‘The Left of Darkness‘ by Ursula K. Le Guin. Weird science stuff but a great read. Imagine a world where the beings, human in nature, can change their gender biologically based on the time period of the year.

Another interesting post I discovered through the previous Reddit discussion I have posted on the most previous post. Is WordPress in a dire state?
More discussion on the same issue by the same author of the above article:
Update (1:04pm EAT, 17th April 2014):
So what I’m getting from these discussions is that WordPress architecture really sucks. Well I’m not a pro WordPress developer but from what I’ve seen so far during my time customizing WordPress sites its true. Development and design should be separate but developers and designers usually access the same files. A recommendation by the author of the “The Dire State of WordPress” is that Automattic, the owners of WordPress, should adopt the PHP MVC framework to make the code base manageable i.e. put functions and visuals separately. I will do more research on this and see how this can be adapted.

The intro of any story or film should be captivating enough to capture the reader or viewer. I love movies. No hiding about that fact; I’m a true movie hog. But this is not for the purpose of entertainment and enjoyment only but because movies are a form of art – moving pictures, story building, character building, sound, props, scenery, visual effects – all mixed into one entity. So this past week two movie trailers were released that caught my attention: The Amazing Spiderman 2 and the new Godzilla verision. Check out the trailers below, especially the Spiderman. In that trailer the transition from the spider emblem to Spiderman falling towards New York city looks awesome. In the Godzilla trailer, I suspect they used a soundtrack from the movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey, at the beginning (and I had to tweet about this early today).
That song at the beginning of the new Godzilla movie trailer is definitely from 2001:Space Odyssey http://t.co/JxKNefZRYj

Anyway, enjoy the brief viewing as you await for the release of these two movies in 2014. And this has been another random post.

So its been two and a half months since I last posted in this blog. You can call it a busy schedule for me, with work, projects and post grad. studies OCCUPYING my space. Am back. Not with a bang. But with new things I have learnt. I will sharing a bit on the book of Jeremiah, with its powerful metaphors that God uses to express His displeasure towards sin. Its a serious book. I’m studying it for the first time after all these years. Anyway, there’s a time for everything. God bless and take care til next time when I’ll touch on Jeremiah chapter 1.
